Installing a heating system is no job for an amature. If this was a day project on your Honey-Do list we would be able to allow you to purchase state-of-the-art high-efficiency heating equipment, but we cannot. The manufacturers only want trained professionals to install these highly-complex heating machines. The heating installation process is hard work, it requires a broad range of skills from the heating installer, as well as alot of specialized tools.
The heating and cooling systems in your home are by far the most complex systems that you own. This is the reason why you cannot just unplug them and take them with you to your new home, like you do with all of your appliances. Much like automobiles, these machines are getting more complex year after year.
Before the installation process can begin, many calculations are required to determine the average heat loss of your home, the cubic feet within your home that will need to be heated and many other calculations. All of these complex mathmatics will tell the heating installer what size of a furnace that your home requires.
The Process starts with the removal of your old furnace, a miserable and dirty job. This process can take hours to dissassemble the old furnace in order to remove it from the garage, or other parts of the house.
Once the area is cleaned and ready for the new furnace, it will take a few men to manuever the furnace into place. Once in place, most installations require a new custom extended plenum to make the transition from the new furnace to your old ductwork.
